Matt Kiefer, Director of Information, Compliance and Development for The Preferred Group of Tampa, presented on a variety of topics including Credit and Collections, Loans, Credit Cards, Renting or Buying of a house and the repair of damaged credit.
Matt Kiefer, who has over two decades of experience in the collections industry, is well positioned to be in a knowledgeable position to help others with common financial mistakes people make. Kiefer said he was pleased with the in-person and online participation. “I think we had all demographic ages with us, and I was thrilled with the questions, especially from the younger generations who didn’t get to learn financial literacy in school,” Kiefer said. He had also prepared two comprehensive resource pages with links that people could take with them to learn more, including the financial literacy website, www.knowMyDebt.com, which is a free public resource created by the American Collectors Association International (www.acainternational.org) of which Kiefer is a member.
Kiefer added, “ACA International is a great resource for people in the credit and collections industry and they really care about doing the right thing and helping people and for them to create a free website educating the report on financial literacy speaks volumes about the integrity of the association. So many negative things are being said about the ARM industry and collection agencies in general, it’s really great to be able to give back.
