A private employee was shot dead by an unidentified person in Shamshabad in Hyderabad on Monday evening.
âAn unknown person shot a Mr. Prasad, who is an employee in online money transfer (business),â Shamshabad DCP AR Srinivas said.
The incident took place in a building that contained several small offices, he said.

The victim, Prasad, 30, is an employee of the Katedan branch of the Geosansar banking service company, affiliated with the Katedan branch of the SBI. According to Shamshabad DCP AR Srinivas, Geosansar staff collect small cash deposits from people and send them to bank accounts, specified by clients, on behalf of SBI.
Monday around 3 p.m., the assailant went to the cash withdrawal counter, run by Prasad.
âThe client gave Prasad 500 rupees to deposit in a private bank account. After Prasad completed the paperwork in the computer and deposited the money, the client took out a home-made gun from his pocket and shot Prasad at close range …. A single bullet entered Prasad’s body just below his chest. The bullet did not come out of the body. Doctors will have to remove it surgically. L ‘Prasad would be out of danger,’ the DCP told TOI.
The motive for the incident has not yet been determined and the police are looking for the perpetrator.
